Bailey Australia has become the latest manufacturer to shut up shop.
The company announced on August 1 that its Australian manufacturing operation would be closed by the end of the month, or shortly thereafter.
Bailey Australia’s parent company, Bailey UK, has claimed in a statement that “appropriate arrangements will be made to deal with existing Bailey owners and any outstanding orders, along with employee and supplier commitments”.
Bailey Australia’s “current customer base will still be supported locally”, according to the statement.
“This will include arrangements being put in place to honour existing warranty, support and service commitments for caravans sold in the Australian and New Zealand market,” Bailey said.
“Bailey has ambition to ensure that the Bailey brand continues in Australia and New Zealand markets and will provide relevant updates to the market when appropriate.”
The writing seemed to be on the wall for the Australian operation in late July 2019 when the company’s website went offline and emails went unanswered.
GoRV will provide any updates on the Bailey Australia closure as they come to hand.
