Avida has launched its new pop-top, the Wave.
This ‘electric’ pop-top has, according to Avida sales and marketing manager Billy Falconer, been a long time in the making.
“We wanted to produce something a little different and to make sure it had that Avida ‘wow’,” he said.
So what makes this pop-top electric? It’s in the way the roof goes up and down. Avida has developed a special electric mechanism that lifts and lowers the roof at the touch of a button.
“We have even added a 500mm lift to the interior, which is higher compared to others on the market, giving you even more space inside,” Mr Falconer said.
The Wave is built on Avida’s own chassis, which incorporates a 125x50mm A-frame and 150x50mm main members.
The Wave is available with various suspension types, according to Mr Falconer, including the light-duty offroad Cruisemaster CRS by Vehicle Components.
The pop-top is available in three layouts suitable for couples or a family of seven. The ‘Tourer’ Wave can be upgraded with Avida’s ‘Multi-Terrain Pack’ or ‘Explorer Pack’.
“These packs provide additional features for rougher roads, such as alloy wheels with offroad tyres, and checkerplate side stone protection and a higher ground clearance,” Mr Falconer said.
