The 49th annual Caravan, Camping and Touring Supershow rolled into the Brisbane Showgrounds in early June, with more than 40,290 caravanning and camping fans braving a wet weekend to see the latest models, equipment and accessories from exhibitors.
A total of 901 caravans, campervans, motorhomes, tent trailers and camper trailers, along with a range of gadgets and accessories, was on display at the show.
Caravanning Queensland General Manager (Trade) Jason Plant said the wet weather didn’t dampen caravan and camping enthusiasts’ spirits, with many taking torrential rain in their stride, dodging showers to visit the annual event, which saw sales in excess of $50million.
“Cara-fans from all over put in the miles to visit this year’s show, including attendees from Cairns, Longreach and Mount Isa, Coffs Harbour and Newcastle and even some flying in from China,” Mr Plant said.
A show such as the Queensland Supershow isn’t just about the new products on display, though. Mr Plant said many visitors took the opportunity to learn more about the touring lifestyle at the show’s seminars.
“Travellers were eager to learn about how they can safely enjoy and tow their recreational vehicles, save power or go on off-grid adventures, as well as how they can better plan their trips and what they should pack,” he said.
